This was just a quick drawing that began with a single wash of colour where I put all of my attention on the line that runs from her hair to her foot on her left side. The other ‘edge’ of her body is pretty much lost in the fabric. The red ribbon was an absolute gift and I painted it accurately and quickly before the pose finished. It made the picture and the title.
