For many years my parents lived in Anglesey and I would hitch home from Uni along the A5 through Snowdonia. I got to know the way-marks well. When I reached Llyn Ogwen, which was right next to the road, it felt like I was over the difficult bit and it was pretty much downhill all the way to the Menai Bridge. It is a lovely long narrow lake caught between the two main ranges of Snowdonia and I’ve painted it calm and serene with skeins of mist drifting across the mountains.
