More usually packed like a seal colony with wet-suited surfers, I have shown the beach out of season and nearly empty and used the three figures walking across the wet sand to anchor the great expanse and lend a sense of scale. I am particularly happy with the colours of the sea which change moment to moment with the light and were a real challenge to nail down.
