The view is to the south towards Bolt Tail which can be seen in the distance. Hope Cove is tucked in at the southern end of Bigbury Bay and you can see quite clearly how the sea defences have been built to shelter the cove from the worst of the Atlantic westerly gales. At times in the winter you are left wondering what would happen to the village without the sea wall.
