When I arrived at the beach to paint, the wind was so strong, with no shelter offered by the cliffs that I knew it would wreck my tent if I tried to put it up. So I bought a windbreak and some washing line from the little shop by the carpark and guyed each pole to a plastic bucket buried in the sand; problem solved. The waves were huge and when the sun came out the scene was quite wonderful and well worth sticking around for the day to paint.
