The only other print I have of Booby’s Bay shows the tide in, with the waves breaking onto the rocks, so it was interesting to paint the same view with the tide right out. I’ve tried to generate a great sense of expansiveness and quiet with a suggestion of sea mist in the middle distance, tempting the viewer to imagine their own peaceful walk out across the beach to watch the waves.
