Camped up at Fishing Cove Field above Daymer Bay to paint a ‘landscape’ I often get caught up in watching the antics of holiday makers on the beach. On this occasion I watched for the best part of an hour as an adult tried to stand up on his new paddle board, so that he could take his child out to sea for a ride.  His perseverance was amazing and once he had succeeded, I decided to tip my hat to him and use his victory as the title of my painting.
