I painted this from one of my favourite spots, Fishing Cove Field at Daymer Bay, it was towards the end of September when things had quietened down a little, a few families camped out for the day by the dunes, one or two dog walkers but there was little activity in the sea. What caught my attention was the wonderful high blustery sky and the long reflections spilling down the wet sand, which is why I chose the ‘square’ format for my watercolour paper and though I say it myself I think the painting captures the feel of day very well.
